Tomaszów Mazowiecki to miasto w województwie łódzkim, położone nad pięcioma rzekami: Pilicą, Czarną, Wolbórką, Piasecznicą i Lubochenką.
Tomaszów Mazowiecki znajduje się na połączeniu trzech krain o charakterze historyczno-kulturowym, są to ziemia sieradzka, ziemia sandomierska i ziemia łęczycka.
Nagórzyce to najstarsza dzielnica na południu miasta, pierwsze wzmianki na jej temat pochodzą z 1363 roku. Kolejną dzielnicą są Białobrzegi, której tereny były zamieszkane wcześniej niż dzielnicy Nagórzyce. Dzielnica Brzustówka w 2011 roku obchodziła swoje 600-lecie. Według badań wynika, iż ta dzielnica była zamieszkiwana już w II wieku. Za czasów Królestwa Polskiego, przemysł wełniany odgrywał ważną role na terenie obecnego Tomaszowa Mazowieckiego.
